Abstract

Business process improvement has ever been the major organizations concern to enhance efficiency, flexibility and competitiveness. Business process management is a contemporary approach which includes different techniques to support business process improvement along its lifecycle phases. Process mining is a maturing technology based on event logs analysis giving insight on what is really happening at the operational level. Process model extension is one of the three process mining types, which provides different perspectives of the business process. Otherwise, cost perspective is one of the relevant information needed by organization managers to take the suited process improvement decisions. In this paper, we propose an approach allowing Petri Net model extension with cost information using process mining extension technique. Besides, we present the main details about its implementation and the test case results.
