Abstract
Organizations always look for enhancing their efficiency and competitiveness by improving their business processes. Business Process Management includes techniques allowing continuous business process improvement. Process mining is a mature technology allowing to extract knowledge from event logs. Process model extension is a process mining technique covering different perspectives of the business process. Furthermore, financial cost incurred during business process execution is one of the relevant information needed by decision makers to take the appropriate improvement decisions in terms of cost reduction. Thus, we proposed a solution allowing Petri Net model extension with cost information using process mining extension technique. However, the proposed solution simply provides cost information by associating them to the corresponding elements of the Petri Net model, which is not sufficient for decision making support. In this paper, we propose several improvements and extensions of the proposed solution in order to enhance the provided decision making support. These proposals include cost data structuring, description and analysis with respect to the recommendations drawn from talks with experts.
