Abstract

This paper presents a technique that enables integration and interoperability of web components with learning platforms. This technique is proposed as a lightweight alternative to IMS LTI and OpenAjax and is especially suited to simple client-side widgets that have no back-end dependencies and potential security risks. The technique has already been used successfully in an experimental learning platform to provide data generated by various heterogeneous components for intelligent support and learning analytics.
