Abstract
We established a radio over fiber system applicable to broadband wireless communications for small cell applications and to mobile fronthaul network segment in cloud-radio access networks (RAN). Optical radio signals are transmitted over a fronthaul fiber using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) techniques and subcarrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA). System parameters are evaluated for various subcarrier modulations and the results of link performance measurements are analyzed.
