Abstract
In order to assess joint loads and to estimate joint reaction forces and net joint torques in human motion analysis, inverse dynamic approaches are commonly applied. These approaches rely on an accurate estimation of human body segment parameter values. The paper gives an overview of contemporary methods with a specific focus on approaches based on geometrical models, where image based or photogrammetric techniques are applied for estimating the parameter values fast and accurately.
