Abstract
Abnormal gait or gait abnormality occurs when the body systems are unable to aid walking in the usual way. Gait abnormality can be caused by musculoskeletal and neuromuscular problems. It can occur among every population from pediatric, adult and geriatric cases. If this abnormal pattern persists, it can alter the biomechanics of the body resulting in more complications such as pain, deformity, and balance problem. One way to facilitate the gait pattern is by using lower extremity orthosis.
