Abstract
This study presents a case study on violations of several good corporate governance principles with the aim to become a source of learning for practical as well as academic purposes. The case study shows a lousy practice of business ethics conducted by a big mining company in Indonesia, which brings social and environmental detrimental effect on the local community and environment. The bad impact implies the importance of good corporate governance implementation to support ethical business practices and the sustainability of a company. Apart from the practical implication, this study also has the implication on future research to explore more on the relationship between business ethics and corporate governance in the case study context to enable a deep understanding of the issue.
