Abstract
The outbreak of the Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic took the whole world by surprise. It virtually brought everything to a standstill due to the lockdown. Though every sector of the global economy had its fair share of the dire consequences of the COVID-19, one of the most affected area included education. Educational institutions shut down to avoid the spread of the virus. The situation led to the compulsory adoption of E-Learning or online learning as a step in the gap to enable the continuation of academic work. The objective of the study was to categorize the technologies used by universities during the COVID-19 pandemic; determine the extent of use of these technologies during the lockdown; examine the effectiveness of these technologies for teaching and learning. The survey approach of research design was used to observe education institutions adoption of e-learning technology during the COVID-19 and interpreted the findings based on existing theory. The result shows that the strongest relationship amongst the factors was perceived usefulness and attitude towards use.
