Abstract
The activities that comprise a requirements engineering process involve elicitation, modeling, validation, and verification of requirements, and these activities tend to be more communication and interaction-intensive than others during the software development process. This paper presents an experience report on requirements validation and verification techniques applied to a mobile application project developed for the Brazilian prison system’s former inmates, aiming to support them in their resocialization process. Besides, it presents the decisions we made in agreement with the project stakeholders to guarantee the end-users data privacy. Our results show that even with the Covid-19 pandemic and social isolation restrictions, it was possible to apply the requirements validation techniques. Furthermore, the mobile application’s acceptance tests with both stakeholders and the end-users demonstrate that the developers duly followed the privacy guidelines. Finally, all privacy requirements comply with the stakeholders and the application’s end-users needs and are under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
