Abstract

Collaborative consumption has emerged as a phenomenon widely described by academic literature to promote more sustainable consumption practices such as sharing over ownership, peer-to-peer lending, and renting. The aim of this study is to analyze the motivational factors of collaborative consumption in the era of the sharing economy, as a part of planned behavior with attitude as a moderating variable of Taiwan customers. The hypothesis tested with a simple random sampling technic with the total number of 203 Taiwanese. The finding indicates that Taiwan customers really pay attention to the impact of sustainability in the way they examine collaborative consumption products. A gap between attitude and behavioral intention also appeared in this research.
