Abstract
The fixed-time tracking control problem is addressed for a class of nonlinear systems. A novel command filtered backstepping control law including virtual control signals, fixed-time command filters, and error compensation signals is constructed. By the introduced fixed-time command filters, the problem of “explosion of complexity” caused by backstepping approach is avoided. Simultaneously, the filtering errors produced by the introduced fixed-time command filters are eliminated by the designed error compensation signals. It is proven that the resulted closed-loop tracking control system under the proposed command filtered backstepping control law is fixed-time stable.
