Abstract

Typhoon has the characteristics of sudden strong, destructive power. Typhoons can cause huge economic losses and casualties to coastal countries and regions, so it is considered to be one of the most serious natural disasters in the world. The impact of typhoons has gradually increased in recent years. Therefore, the accurate analysis and prediction of typhoon is particularly important. This paper starts with statistical methods, obtains relevant data in the last hundred years, analyzes and summarizes some important factors that may affect typhoon. Indicators such as barometric pressure and sea surface temperature are most likely to affect typhoons. Therefore, the study started from the subtropical high and SST, collected many years of data and research, and analyzed the relationship between them and typhoons by statistical methods. By analyzing the data of the last hundred years and synthesizing the previous studies, the influence of the Western Pacific subtropical high and ENSO (El Niño-Southern Oscillation) on the Pacific typhoon is discussed. Finally, the correlation between typhoon and these two factors is obtained through analysis.
