Abstract
This study aims to develop an automated negotiation meta-strategy and proposes an approach that automatically selects a strategy based on the opponent from a range of available strategies using clustering techniques. The proposed method groups the possible negotiation strategies into clusters and employs deep reinforcement learning to determine an effective bidding strategy for the representative point of each cluster. This strategy is optimized for the average agent within each cluster, consistently outperforming other agents in the same cluster. An analysis of the number of strategy clusters identified using the proposed method indicates that individual utility tends to increase when the number of clusters is limited. Notably, the highest utility is achieved when there are three clusters. In addition, negotiation simulation experiments demonstrate that the proposed approach yields higher individual utility compared to the previous studies.
