Abstract

In recent years, the exponential growth of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transcended disciplinary boundaries, expanding into diverse fields beyond computer science. This study analyzes AI’s distribution across disciplines using a large dataset of scientific publications. Contrary to expectations, substantial AI research extends into medicine, engineering, social sciences, and humanities. This interdisciplinary presence heralds new possibilities for collaborative innovation to tackle contemporary challenges. The analysis identifies emerging trends, contributing to a deeper understanding of AI’s evolving role in society.
