Abstract
Bicyclists are one category of vulnerable road users involved in many car accidents. In this context a framework for driver warning when safety distance with respect to bicyclists is low is developed. The approach realises on object detection, monocular distance estimation for developing the driver warning algorithm. The approach was tested on benchmark datasets and on real sequences in which a mobile phone camera was used for capturing the frames.
