Abstract

In this research, we propose a method for estimating detailed human shape and posture from video images of a person in motion. The SMPL (Skinned Multi-Person Linear Model) model can represent various body shapes with a small number of parameters, but it cannot represent detailed information such as the subject’s clothing or hairstyle. In this research, we separate such detailed deformations into deformations common to all time periods and temporary deformations that appear at different times, and recover each of them to realize detailed human shape recovery from video images of people shot with various postures.
