Abstract

Extended reality (XR) technology has been increasingly used in many areas, one being healthcare. This paper presents a pilot study comparing two 360-degree virtual reality (VR) healthcare applications. The applications were evaluated by eight nursing students who evaluated both interfaces based on the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ), the System Usability Scale (SUS), and the Simulator Sickness Questionnaire (SSQ). Results show that both applications could provide a positive user experience and high usability, with some improvements shown in the second version of the application. The SSQ scores also showed that minimal motion sickness occurred. Overall, all participants thought the VR-based education provided an innovative alternative to traditional education scenarios.
