Abstract

Proposal of a method to detect and correct errors in BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) models using ontologies and Descriptive Logic reasoning to formalize and identify common errors related to the use of gateways, elements that control the flow and decisions in a process. The research highlights how the misuse of gateways can lead to inefficiencies and failures in process execution. Gateways are explored in the article as a demonstration of an experimental structure with a focus on expanding the application of the method to other elements of BPM modeling.
