Abstract
This paper presents the SOAP-to-REST Middleware Architecture which provides an abstraction layer for conventional web services. This layer semi-automatically creates REST API (REpresentational State Transfer) proxies for existing enterprise web services that allows companies to provide flexible and lightweight access to exiting web services. Therefore, REST APIs can be offered for existing web services without the need to adapt them, which allows for flexible and fast integration scenarios. The architecture also provides additional enterprise-grade functionality such as caching and security.
